Schladming, Styria, Austria · Ski amadé (regional pass); independent — not Ikon/Epic
Schladming is a town in Styria's Ennstal valley whose home mountain, the Planai (1,906m), is directly lift-linked to neighbouring Hochwurzen, and joined by a shared lift pass to Hauser Kaibling and Reiteralm — together the 'Schladminger 4-Berge-Skischaukel,' part of the larger Ski amadé network. The Planai is Austria's most famous World Cup venue, hosting the men's night slalom under floodlights every January since 1973, and it hosted the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in both 1982 and 2013. Terrain across the four connected mountains is dominated by groomed intermediate cruising, with the 4.6km FIS downhill course dropping from the Planai summit to the valley floor in Schladming.
