Powderhorn Mountain Resort

Powderhorn Mountain Resort is a low-key, uncrowded ski area on the Grand Mesa plateau about 45 minutes east of Grand Junction, Colorado. It's known for consistent, dry powder — averaging around 250 inches a season — across 1,600 acres of mostly intermediate and advanced terrain served by just five lifts, including the high-speed 'Flat Top Flyer' quad. Skiing here dates to a 1940s rope tow; the modern area opened in 1966, and Pacific Group Resorts took majority control in 2024, bringing the resort onto the Indy Pass for 2024-25.
