Méribel sits centrally in the Tarentaise Valley of Savoie, France, at the heart of Les Trois Vallées, the world's largest linked ski area (roughly 600km of interconnected pistes across Courchevel, Val Thorens, Les Menuires and more). The resort's own terrain runs from about 1,450m at the village up to 2,952m at Mont du Vallon, with a mix of wide cruising blues and reds and steeper black terrain off the Saulire and Mont Vallon lifts. It was built as a purpose-designed resort from the 1930s and hosted the 1992 Olympic women's downhill and ice hockey.
