La Plagne

La Plagne is a sprawling, ten-village ski area built largely for the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics (whose bobsleigh track it still uses) and was, for a period, cited as the world's most-visited ski resort. Since 2003 it has been physically joined to Les Arcs by the double-decker Vanoise Express cable car, together forming the Paradiski area. Terrain is heavily weighted toward wide, groomed blue and red cruising, with skiing up to 3,250 m on the Glacier de la Chiaupe near Bellecôte.
