Holiday Valley is a family-owned resort in Ellicottville that has grown into one of the most complete ski destinations in western New York, running 13 lifts across a broad, moderate mountain since opening in 1958. Consistent lake-effect snowfall off Lake Erie and a lively base village draw heavy weekend crowds, including a large contingent of visitors crossing over from Ontario. Beyond its 60 slopes, the resort layers in five terrain parks, night skiing on 39 lit acres, and a golf course and tubing park that keep Ellicottville busy well past ski season.
