Marathon County, Wisconsin, USA · Ikon
Granite Peak is Wisconsin's largest ski area, built into the slopes of Rib Mountain just outside Wausau and tracing its roots to one of North America's earliest ski operations in 1937. Seven lifts serve 58 runs across a 700-foot vertical drop — modest by Western standards but enough to make it a genuine destination in the flatland Midwest, backed by heavy snowmaking and night skiing. Owned by Midwest Family Ski Resorts alongside sister areas Lutsen Mountains and Snowriver, Granite Peak is joining the Ikon Pass for the 2026-27 season after years as an early Indy Pass partner.
