Discovery Ski Area

Discovery Ski Area sits on Rumsey and Jubilee mountains above Georgetown Lake in southwestern Montana's Granite County, between Anaconda and Philipsburg. It offers a substantial 2,388-foot vertical drop and terrain spanning four mountain faces — from groomed beginner runs to expert bowl skiing — served by eight lifts, including five triple chairs. It has operated for decades as a deliberately low-key, family-style ski area rather than a large-scale resort development, under a special-use permit with the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest.
