Craigieburn Range, Canterbury, New Zealand
One of New Zealand's oldest club fields, running rope tows (the first installed in 1949) up steep, entirely ungroomed advanced-and-intermediate terrain with no snowmaking and no terrain parks. A 1954 attempt to install a T-bar via airdrop famously failed after a single season, leaving rope tows as the field's lift technology ever since. It sits directly adjacent to Broken River, and the two fields are linked by a ski-touring traverse.
