Courmayeur Mont Blanc

Courmayeur sits at 1,224m at the southern (Italian) foot of Mont Blanc in the Aosta Valley, opposite Chamonix across the Mont Blanc massif. Its ski area, Chécrouit-Val Veny, runs from the Dolonne base station (1,210m) up to Cresta d'Arp (2,755m) on 18 lifts and 33 groomed pistes (11 blue, 17 red, 5 black) totalling 42km, with considerably more terrain available off-piste. The resort is also the Italian base for the Skyway Monte Bianco cable car, which climbs separately to Punta Helbronner (3,466m) for access to the glaciated Vallée Blanche run down to Chamonix.
