Chimgan Ski Resort

Chimgan is Uzbekistan's oldest and best-known ski resort, set in the Chatkal range of the western Tian Shan roughly 80-85 km northeast of Tashkent, in an area often nicknamed the 'Uzbek Switzerland.' It's a modest, beginner-and-family-oriented area — about 6 lifts serving a couple of kilometres of mostly easy and blue/intermediate piste on the lower shoulder of Greater Chimgan peak — with a longer-running double chairlift and a hook (platter) lift among its main lifts, plus a base area of hotels, cafes and après facilities. Chimgan is often mentioned together with Beldersay (Mt. Kumbel), a separate, steeper resort about 11 km away that is now anchored by the Beldersay Resort & Spa (part of Destination by Hyatt) and reaches higher and more advanced terrain; the two are adjacent but operationally distinct ski areas rather than one linked resort. Development plans referenced by aggregators would extend lift-served terrain toward Greater Chimgan's 3,309 m summit, but as of current sources that peak remains unserved by lifts.
