Samtskhe-Javakheti, Georgia
Georgia's oldest and best-known ski resort, Bakuriani sits on the northern slopes of the Trialeti Range near Borjomi, with a ski heritage dating back to 1932. The area spans two connected sectors, Didveli (the higher, more challenging terrain served by modern gondolas) and Kokhta-Mitarbi (gentler, forested slopes popular with families and beginners). It's reachable from Borjomi via a historic narrow-gauge railway, and its long ski-jumping tradition has made it a training base for Georgian and regional athletes.
