Terms of Service

Last updated August 28, 2026.

This is a plain-language agreement written for a small, early-stage product, not a document drafted or reviewed by a lawyer. If you have legal questions about your rights or obligations, please consult your own counsel.

1. Who this agreement is with

PeakSeeker ("we," "us") operates the PeakSeeker website and app (the "Service") at peakseeker.app. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. What PeakSeeker is

PeakSeeker is an early-stage, independently run product for exploring ski resorts and mountain summits, logging your own sessions and ascents, and planning trips with other people. It is not affiliated with any resort operator, land-management agency, or avalanche-forecasting organization referenced on the site.

3. Your account

You need an account to use most features. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your password confidential, and for anything that happens under your account. Tell us if you believe your account has been compromised.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post — session logs, ascent records, trip itineraries, photos, community posts, comments, and messages ("your content"). By posting it, you give PeakSeeker a license to store, display, and distribute it back to you and to other users as the Service's features require (for example, showing your post in a trip feed or a community page you're a member of).

You're responsible for what you post. Don't post anything that isn't yours to share, that's illegal, harassing, or that misrepresents trail, avalanche, or safety conditions in a way that could put someone at risk.

5. Safety — read this one

Resort, summit, route, weather, and avalanche information on PeakSeeker is compiled from public and third-party sources and from other users, and is provided for planning and reference only. It is not a substitute for official resort conditions, current avalanche bulletins from your local forecasting center, a guide, or your own judgment. Mountain conditions change quickly and can be dangerous. Always verify conditions with official sources before heading into the backcountry or onto avalanche terrain, and never rely solely on this Service for a safety-critical decision.

6. Trips and other users

Trip planning, messaging, and community features let you interact with other users. Be respectful. We can remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms, harass other users, or misuse the Service, though as a small product we may not be able to review every report immediately.

7. Acceptable use

Don't: scrape or bulk-extract the site's data; attempt to access another user's account; upload malware; use the Service to violate the law; or interfere with the Service's normal operation.

8. Third-party data and services

Some information shown on PeakSeeker — resort statistics, elevation and route data, weather, and avalanche danger ratings — comes from third-party sources we cite where possible. We don't control the accuracy or availability of third-party data and aren't responsible for it. The Service also relies on third-party infrastructure (including hosting, database, and AI providers) described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information on it — including resort, summit, or safety-related data — is complete, current, or accurate.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PeakSeeker and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, or for any injury, loss, or damage arising from activities you undertake based on information found on the Service, including mountain, resort, or backcountry activities.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Ending your account

You can stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
