Browse all summitsVaalserberg is the highest point of the European (mainland) Netherlands, a wooded hill on the far southeastern tip of Limburg where the borders of the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany meet at the Drielandenpunt (Three Countries Point). It's a paved, family-friendly summit rather than a wilderness objective — visitors can walk up from the town of Vaals or drive nearly to the top, then climb one of the observation towers on the Dutch or Belgian side for sweeping views into three countries at once. The site is also a regular feature of the Amstel Gold Race cycling classic, whose riders tackle the Drielandenpunt climb before crossing into Belgium.
