Pico del Teide is a stratovolcano on Tenerife in Spain's Canary Islands and, at 3,715 m, the highest point in Spain and in the Atlantic Ocean basin. It sits within Teide National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and remains a dormant but potentially active volcano whose most recent eruption (from the flank vent El Chinyero) occurred in 1909.
