Mount Temple

Mount Temple is the highest peak in the Lake Louise area and one of the most recognizable summits in the Canadian Rockies, rising directly behind Moraine Lake and the Valley of the Ten Peaks. Its standard southwest-side route is a long, serious scramble over loose rock bands rather than a technical climb, but the mountain has a heavy accident history and is not considered a beginner objective. It remains one of the most historically significant peaks in Canadian mountaineering, having been the first 11,000-foot-plus summit climbed in the Canadian Rockies.

How we verified this

Elevation, prominence, coordinates and first-ascent facts are checked against published references and official sources. Where a fact isn't clearly documented, we show it as unknown rather than estimate.
