Mount Tai

Mount Tai (Taishan) is the most culturally significant of China's Five Great Mountains and one of the country's most revered sacred sites, the object of imperial pilgrimage and religious veneration for over 3,000 years. It rises above the North China Plain near the city of Tai'an in Shandong Province, its summit crowned by the Jade Emperor Peak.

How we verified this

Elevation, prominence, coordinates and first-ascent facts are checked against published references and official sources. Where a fact isn't clearly documented, we show it as unknown rather than estimate.
