Mount Sneffels is one of the most photogenic and technically flavored Colorado 14ers, a sharp, castellated summit rising above Yankee Boy Basin in the San Juan Mountains. The standard route is an easy Class 3 scramble up a loose scree/rock couloir, but the peak's steep, complex flanks (including the well-known Snake Couloir) also draw stronger scramblers and ski mountaineers, and it is widely regarded as offering some of the best 'bang for your buck' scenery of any Colorado 14er.
