Mount Roraima is the highest of the Pacaraima chain's tepuis (table mountains), a sheer-sided sandstone plateau rising to 2,810 m at the tripoint where Venezuela, Guyana, and Brazil meet. Its isolated summit ecosystem, with endemic flora and fauna, helped inspire Arthur Conan Doyle's 1912 novel 'The Lost World.'
