Mount Hunter, known by its Dena'ina name Begguya ('child of Denali'), is the third-highest major peak in the Alaska Range, rising about 8 miles south of Denali. Despite being far lower than Denali or Foraker, it is widely regarded by climbers as a harder, more technical mountain, owing to its exceptionally steep faces, corniced ridges, and serious objective hazard. Its North Buttress hosts the Moonflower Buttress, one of the most famous hard alpine climbs in North America.
