Mount Greylock is the highest point in Massachusetts, a broad, forested summit rising above the Berkshire Hills in the state's northwest corner. Its summit is capped by the 93-foot Massachusetts War Memorial Tower (1932) and the CCC-built Bascom Lodge, with views reportedly extending into several neighboring states on clear days. It's typically visited via day hikes such as the Cheshire Harbor Trail or a section of the Appalachian Trail, or by driving the seasonal Notch Road/Rockwell Road auto road to the summit.
