Monte Rosa (Dufourspitze)

Dufourspitze is the highest summit of the Monte Rosa massif and the highest point in Switzerland, and the second-highest peak in the Alps after Mont Blanc. Although the Monte Rosa massif straddles the Swiss-Italian border, the summit of Dufourspitze itself lies entirely within Swiss territory, in the canton of Valais.

How we verified this

Elevation, prominence, coordinates and first-ascent facts are checked against published references and official sources. Where a fact isn't clearly documented, we show it as unknown rather than estimate.
