Browse all summitsKorona Peak, named for its crown-like silhouette, is one of the signature technical objectives of Ala Archa National Park, the most accessible high-mountain climbing area near Bishkek. Rather than a single summit, it is a massif of six connected rock towers linked by a jagged ridge, with walls rising up to roughly 900 m and the Ak-Sai Glacier draped across its southwestern flank. It draws both moderate glacier parties and serious technical climbers, since its many named routes span an enormous difficulty range — from straightforward glacier walking to sustained mixed and aid climbing on the steeper towers. A mountain hut near 3,800 m serves as the standard high camp for the roughly four-day round trip from the park entrance.
