Jengish Chokusu, also known as Peak Pobeda (Victory Peak), is the highest mountain in the Tian Shan range and one of the most dangerous 7,000 m peaks in the world, straddling the border between Kyrgyzstan and China. Its long, exposed summit ridge and severe weather have made it a notorious testing ground for high-altitude mountaineers, especially those pursuing the Soviet-era 'Snow Leopard' award.
