Jebel Jais is the UAE's tallest mountain and, since a paved 36km mountain road opened in 2019, one of the country's most accessible high-altitude tourist destinations rather than a climbing objective. The drive up switchbacks to a viewing platform roughly 10°C cooler than the desert floor below, and the site is now built around adrenaline tourism — most famously the Jais Flight, the world's longest zipline at 2,832m. Technical mountaineers should note that the true summit sits just across the border on the Omani side; the highest point actually within UAE territory is a separate, slightly lower rise nearby.

Elevation, prominence, coordinates and first-ascent facts are checked against published references and official sources. Where a fact isn't clearly documented, we show it as unknown rather than estimate.
