Browse all summitsHuangshan (Yellow Mountain) is a granite peak massif in southern Anhui famed for its wind-sculpted pine trees, jagged granite towers, and dramatic sea-of-clouds sunrises, and it has inspired Chinese painting and poetry for over a thousand years. Its highest point, Lotus Peak (Lianhua Peak), reaches 1,864 m and is one of three major summits alongside Bright Peak and Celestial Capital Peak. It is a maintained, mass-tourism destination with stone stairways and cable cars rather than a technical climb, and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990.
