Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain in Thailand, a granite-cored peak in the Thanon Thong Chai Range (part of the Shan Hills) protected within Doi Inthanon National Park. Its summit, reachable by paved road, holds a stupa containing the remains of the Chiang Mai prince Inthawichayanon for whom the mountain was renamed.
