Black Mesa is the highest point in Oklahoma, a flat-topped lava-capped mesa in the far northwestern tip of the Oklahoma Panhandle near where Oklahoma, Colorado, and New Mexico meet. It is the eroded remnant of a basalt lava flow that once extended roughly 28 miles from Mesa de Maya in Colorado. Unlike the other four summits in this set, it is a non-technical hike across shortgrass prairie and juniper-dotted terrain to a granite obelisk marking the state highpoint.

Elevation, prominence, coordinates and first-ascent facts are checked against published references and official sources. Where a fact isn't clearly documented, we show it as unknown rather than estimate.
