Bălănești Hill

Bălănești Hill is Moldova's highest point, a modest, rounded summit rising from the rolling farmland and forest of the Cornești Hills in the country's central plateau. There is no technical climbing here — just gentle pastures and field tracks leading to a marker at the top — but it draws visitors specifically for the novelty of standing on the nation's roof. On a clear day the surrounding patchwork of villages, orchards, and hills stretches out in every direction.

How we verified this

Elevation, prominence, coordinates and first-ascent facts are checked against published references and official sources. Where a fact isn't clearly documented, we show it as unknown rather than estimate.
