Alpamayo is a striking, near-symmetrical ice pyramid in Peru's Cordillera Blanca (Ancash Region), within Huascarán National Park. Known locally as Shuyturaju in Quechua, it has been widely described since the 1960s as one of the most beautiful mountains in the world, and its southwest face is one of the most sought-after ice climbs in the Andes.
